When Katie and Joey decided to tie the knot, they envisioned a day full of romance, elegance, and thoughtful details. Their wedding, held at the newly opened Conservatory at Blackberry Ridge, brought all of that and more to life. As one of the first couples to marry at this European-inspired venue, their celebration set a stunning tone for what’s possible in this incredible space. Planning their wedding was a whirlwind—in just five months, and from long distance, we worked closely with Katie, Joey, and their vendors to bring their dreams to reality. Katie had a clear vision from the start: an English rose garden brimming with vibrant pinks, corals, and oranges. She wanted every detail to reflect a vintage charm while incorporating roses—a symbol tied to her life and their relationship.
Bringing the Rose Garden Vision to Life
With Katie’s middle name being Rose, the flower has held special meaning throughout her life and later became symbolic in her relationship with Joey. We embraced this meaningful detail by incorporating roses into almost every aspect of the day. The invitation suite featured a rose motif, which carried through to the custom-designed dance floor, menu cards, and, of course, the breathtaking floral arrangements. It was a personal and intentional touch that made their wedding feel uniquely theirs.
Intentional Design
The Conservatory at Blackberry Ridge, with its towering ceilings and black-framed architecture, was the perfect space for Katie’s vintage-inspired vision. To complement the grandeur of the space, we brought in towering floral arrangements that added height, drama, and color. The bold, bright blooms brought her English rose garden vision to life while standing out beautifully against the venue’s modern structure. Every detail—from the flowers to the decor—was chosen with care to create a space that felt elegant, intentional, and true to the couple’s style.
Ballroom Dancing the Night Away
One standout feature was the custom dance floor, which included Katie and Joey’s crest framed by a delicate rose border. It served as a beautiful focal point for the reception and tied the design together perfectly. It was here that Katie and Joey, along with their guests, danced the night away to the classic tunes of a Frank Sinatra-inspired band. Instead of opting for a traditional wedding band, they chose music that matched the timeless feel of the day, even taking ballroom dancing lessons in preparation. Seeing the couple, their families, and friends filling the dance floor was a highlight of the evening.
