For AnnaLee and John David, it all started at a costume party during college. What began as a simple meeting grew into a relationship rooted in faith, friendship, and a shared vision for the future. In April they celebrated that journey surrounded by 270 of their closest family members and friends at a beautiful Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club wedding that reflected everything most important to them.

From the beginning of the planning process, AnnaLee had a clear vision for their day. Above all else, she wanted Jesus to remain at the center of every moment. She also hoped that each guest would feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for from the moment they arrived until the final farewell. Music and florals played an important role in bringing that vision to life, creating an atmosphere that felt both elegant and deeply personal.

Inspired by the timeless charm of Nantucket, the design featured a soft palette of light blue, blush, green, and white accented with touches of silver and gold. The result was a celebration that felt classic, chic, and effortlessly inviting.

Getting Ready for a Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club Wedding

The day began at the couple’s respective family river homes, providing a relaxed and meaningful start to the celebration.

AnnaLee spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids, sharing laughter, excitement, and those unforgettable moments that make a wedding morning so special. The girls wore coordinating pajamas designed by AnnaLee herself, creating sweet memories before stepping into their wedding-day attire. With a background in design, AnnaLee also designed the bridesmaid dresses, adding another meaningful and personal touch to the day.

The bridal look perfectly complemented the overall aesthetic of the day. Soft, romantic details paired beautifully with lush spring florals, creating a timeless bridal style that felt elegant without being overly formal.

Meanwhile, John David and his groomsmen prepared nearby, enjoying a slower-paced morning together before the festivities began. Dressed in classic black tuxes with black ties, the gentlemen brought a refined and sophisticated look that balanced beautifully with the softness of the wedding design.

Waterfront Portraits and Meaningful First Looks

One of the most memorable parts of the day was the time intentionally set aside for portraits before the ceremony.

The waterfront setting at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club provided a stunning backdrop for photographs. With spring greenery surrounding the property and beautiful views of the water, every portrait captured the relaxed elegance the couple envisioned.

Among the highlights were portraits taken aboard a yacht, a fitting nod to the venue’s waterfront setting and Nantucket-inspired design aesthetic. The images felt timeless and sophisticated while still allowing AnnaLee and John David’s personalities to shine through.

Before joining guests, the couple also enjoyed a reception reveal. This private moment allowed them to experience the beauty of their reception space together before it filled with family and friends. Seeing months of planning come to life was an emotional and joyful experience, giving them a few quiet moments together amidst a busy day.

A Wedding Party Full of Style and Celebration

The wedding party beautifully complemented the overall design vision.

AnnaLee’s bridesmaids wore soft pink dresses that added warmth and romance to the color palette. The pink hue worked seamlessly alongside the lush florals and spring-inspired design details.

The groomsmen’s black tuxes created a timeless, polished look that added contrast and sophistication throughout the day.

Together, the wedding party brought energy, support, and excitement to every part of the celebration. From portraits to the dance floor, they helped create an atmosphere of joy that carried throughout the entire wedding day.

A Faith-Centered Ceremony at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club

As often happens with outdoor weddings, Mother Nature had plans of her own.

Originally planned outdoors, the ceremony was moved indoors due to weather. Thanks to thoughtful preparation and a well-executed rain plan, the transition felt seamless. The ceremony took place inside the clubhouse, creating an intimate and welcoming environment that still reflected the couple’s vision.

Rather than feeling like a compromise, the indoor setting allowed guests to feel comfortable while preserving the beauty and significance of the ceremony.

Faith was woven into every aspect of the service.

The processional featured worship music performed by talented vocalists accompanied by a string quartet. As family members and the wedding party made their way down the aisle, the music created an atmosphere of reverence and anticipation.

One of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony came when AnnaLee and John David shared communion together. This powerful expression of their faith reflected the foundation upon which they are building their marriage.

Additional worship selections included “Who Else” and “Is He Worthy?” led by Solomon Hall and Caroline Walden alongside the string quartet. During “Is He Worthy?” guests joined in singing, creating a beautiful moment of collective worship and celebration.

Following the ceremony, the couple recessed to the recorded version of “Next To You” by Justin Bieber, transitioning from a sacred ceremony into the joyful festivities ahead.

Cocktail Hour with Family and Friends

Following the ceremony, guests made their way to a reimagined cocktail hour experience.

Because of the weather adjustments, cocktail hour was thoughtfully spread throughout the Terrapin Room, Sunroom, and upper pool deck. The planning team carefully repurposed rentals and design elements to ensure each space felt intentional and cohesive.

Guests enjoyed cocktails and passed appetizers while mingling with family and friends. A pianist provided live music throughout the cocktail hour, adding warmth and sophistication to the experience.

While guests enjoyed the celebration, the couple took time for extended family portraits before joining cocktail hour near the end. This allowed them to capture important family memories while still spending meaningful time with their guests before dinner.

The overall atmosphere reflected one of AnnaLee’s primary goals: creating a celebration where every guest felt welcomed and cared for.

Reception Details Inspired by Nantucket Elegance

The reception design perfectly embodied the couple’s vision of a classic, chic, Nantucket-inspired wedding.

Soft blues, blush tones, fresh greenery, and crisp white florals created a sophisticated spring palette throughout the space. Silver and gold accents added subtle dimension while maintaining an elegant, timeless feel.

Every design choice worked together to create a setting that felt elevated yet approachable.

One of the unique logistical elements of the day involved thoughtfully repurposing rentals and décor elements after the ceremony relocation. Rather than allowing weather changes to impact the guest experience, the design team seamlessly transformed spaces throughout the property, ensuring the overall vision remained intact.

The result was a reception environment that felt intentional, beautiful, and welcoming from every angle.

Dinner, Dancing, and a Joyful Celebration

As dinner service began, guests were invited a few tables at a time to make their way through the buffet located inside the tent.

Throughout dinner, a string quartet performed on the dance floor, providing elegant live music while guests enjoyed conversation and a delicious meal.

The seating arrangement reflected the couple’s desire for connection and community. Family members and the wedding party were seated at banquettes, while the remainder of the reception featured open seating that encouraged guests to mingle and celebrate together.

Once dinner concluded, AnnaLee and John David were officially announced into the tent for their first dance.

The couple shared their first dance to “Something in the Heavens” by Lewis Capaldi, creating a romantic and memorable moment surrounded by loved ones.

Following the dances, the Maid of Honor and Best Man delivered heartfelt speeches filled with stories, laughter, and well wishes for the newlyweds.

The evening continued with cake cutting and the official opening of the dance floor.

From that moment forward, the celebration shifted into high gear.

Guests filled the dance floor as hats and glow-stick wands were distributed, adding an extra layer of fun and energy to the reception. Friends and family celebrated late into the evening, creating the kind of joyful atmosphere the couple had envisioned from the very beginning.

Sweet Late-Night Treats and a Memorable Exit

As the evening continued, guests enjoyed a selection of late-night treats designed to keep the celebration going.

Espresso martinis, chocolate-covered strawberries, and additional late-night snacks provided the perfect pick-me-up before the final events of the evening.

Before saying goodbye to their guests, AnnaLee and John David shared a private last dance together. The moment became even more meaningful when the song began to play. It had been written and recorded by AnnaLee’s twin sister, Chandler, as a surprise for John David. Inspired by how the couple met, the heartfelt song made an already intimate moment even more unforgettable. These quiet moments often become some of a couple’s most treasured memories, providing an opportunity to pause and reflect on everything that had happened throughout the day.

Guests then gathered outside to prepare for the grand exit.

With cold sparks illuminating the night, petals filling the air, and the DJ providing music, family and friends lined up to celebrate the newlyweds one final time.

As “Unwritten” played in the background, the newlyweds made their way through cheering guests before departing in a vintage Rolls Royce.

It was the perfect ending to a day defined by faith, family, meaningful relationships, and intentional hospitality.

Their Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club wedding was more than a beautiful celebration. It was a reflection of who they are as a couple. They are deeply rooted in their faith, committed to serving and loving others, and surrounded by a community eager to celebrate this next chapter of their story.
